Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to roll out a range of significant agricultural and animal husbandry initiatives totaling ₹23,300 crore during his visit to Maharashtra on Saturday. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) and the Mumbai Port Sustainability Foundation (MPSF) to create an advanced green fuel ecosystem at Mumbai Port. This strategic collaboration represents a major step in India’s shift towards cleaner energy solutions, aiming to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and further the country’s climate objectives. The MoU was signed in the presence of BPCL’s chairman and managing director, G Krishnakumar; BPCL’s business head (I&C), Rahul Tandon; and Rajiv Jalota, chairperson of the Mumbai Port Authority. The agreement was formalized during the launch of the Cruise Bharat Mission, an event presided over by Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways.   Bokaro steel plant has announce plan to established two green units each with a capacity of 5 million tone years however, the company primary focus remains on a brownfield project aim at increasing its crude steel production from the current 4.66 mtpa to 7.6 mtpa 2030. Birendra Kumar Tiwari, Director in-charge of BSL, stated that the initial phase of the expansion will concentrate on enhancing production at the existing plant through the brownfield project. "While we have the capacity to install two Greenfield projects, each with a capacity of 5 MTPA, our immediate priority is the brownfield expansion. We plan to invest in Greenfield projects after generating sufficient revenue from brownfield initiatives. BSL is committed to boosting production over the next five years and utilizing profits to fund the Greenfield projects," Tiwari explained.
